JEANI ROTH (Owner/Senior Glow Golor Specialist) Eclectic & quirky are two ways to describe Jeani, which is one of the reasons she always dreamed of living in NYC… she knew she would fit in.
Starting out as a make up artist in 1988 she freelanced for several cosmetic companies, also doing work in print media and runway shows. She decided to branch into the fashion industry in 1994, primarily working in the corporate retail division for the Express stores as a Regional Asst. Manager – overseeing the Northeast market.
Over 20 years of experience in the fashion and beauty industry has given Jeani the tools necessary to explore her passion for starting her own companies.
Jeani has been allergic to the sun for the past 21 years, so she stays out of the sun and lathers her skin with SPF 30 daily. So once she found out about her sun allergy, she knew being sun safe would enhance her lifestyle. Always searching for the perfect sunless tanner she would purchase product after product… finally after 15 years it happened… she discovered the best sunless tan ever.
Faux Glowtm , Inc. was established by Jeani in 2003. Faux Glowtm is for those of us who love to have a healthy glow that the sun provides – but doesn’t want to suffer any skin damage. Jeani is also the owner of Spacadet.comtm - a beauty website that sells funky, fresh & fabulous products. Since she is a beauty product junkie - this was the perfect business idea to allow her to provide people with great beauty products.

Marjorie Whitfield (Freelance Senior Glow Color Specialist) A native New Yorker who now lives in New Jersey. Marjorie always knew her direction in life will be fashion related. Make up became a creative outlet that was very natural to her as a pre-teen. Always sketching and coloring, she would take magazine covers and rearrange the faces of models with colored pens. That ultimately led to a career working for some of the leading retail cosmetics companies in the industry like M.A.C., Chanel and Stila as a resident artist. With the business of beauty forever changing, she seeked to expand her knowledge by taking a course at the Aveda Institute where she obtained her license in Esthetics. She has been working with the Faux Glowtm team since May 2006 and is currently working full time loving and enjoying life!!!

Samantha Trinh (Freelance Glow Color Specialist) Samantha recently joined the Faux Glowtm family with five years of experience as a professional make up artist. Her love for making others feel fabulous was always a part of her passion and talent. Raised in Richmond, Virginia, Samantha came to New York via sunny Miami. She first came here as an student at Hunter College, then moved to LA to study make up at the Make Up Designory (MUD); only to find herself back in NYC working in the fashion and commercial businesses of the world. Samantha spends most of her days on photo shoots or with her clients on private appointments. Samantha met the amazing Jeani Roth through a chance meeting. Their shared interests and experiences in the fashion and beauty world made for an immediate connection and of course a job offer. Airbrushing became another outlet for Samantha to continue developing and growing in her technique as an artist. Her natural eye for color and aesthetics allows each client to have a truly personable experience. Upon request, Samantha is also an eyebrow specialist using the traditional method of tweezing and shaping.

Meaghan Smyth (Glow Color Specialist) At the tender age of three, Meaghan was thrown into the world of make-up, hair gel and glitter by her two older sisters who would dress her up like a punk-rock star and make her dance to Madonna's Vogue until she cried. Fast forward to her teenage years where the glitter turned into lotions and being the guinea pig to continuous facials by her now aesthetician sister. All this skin pampering Meaghan received not only paid off with beautiful skin but it also ignited her own passion of beginning a career in the aesthetic field.
After graduating from Atelier Esthetique and traveling throughout Europe, Meaghan took a minor detour on her road to Glow by working for one of NYC's leading plastic surgeons as a medical assistant. This further reinforced her belief that through diligent skin care and maintenance, the need for elective surgery can be prevented or at the very least, delayed!! Meaghan's passion for clinical skincare lead her to Glow Skin Spa. Her older sister Moira , worked at Glow for 3 years before starting her current career as a nurse. The need to take care of people runs in the family!
Meaghan is enthusiastic about furthering her knowledge of result-oriented aesthetics and how taking care of your skin is a multi-faceted journey. Her philosophy of "less is more" follows in the same principal of Glow Skin Spa. She works with clients on a one on one basis to create the best possible regime of at home care and professional services to slow down the perpetual aging clock. Meaghan, like the rest of the Glow Skin Spa team, continues to keep her knowledge up to date with classes and self-study. Let her heart, hands and mind bring out the "glow" in your skin! Meaghan joined the Faux Glow team because she believes you should stay out of the sun (and you will look younger down the road). She is a true artist when it comes to painting on a canvas - so she figured she could apply those skills and make people look truly amazing with the natural color from the Faux Glow product. She loves when her clients come out looking very "healthy" and "glowing". They always have a big smile on their face and that puts a smile on Meaghan's face.

LIZ SERNA (Senior Glow Color Specialist) As a Colombian Latina born and raised in Astoria, Queens NY, make up has been apart of my up bringing since I was 15 years old. I majored in Fashion Design, but discovered my talent as a makeup artist, always dressing and applying make up to my willing and not so willing friends! As my talented hand spread like wild fire through my community, one thing lead to another and I started to freelance working fashion shows, photo-shoots, proms, and weddings. This experience helped establish employment opportunities with top cosmetic companies like CLINIQUE and M.A.C., GUERLAIN, and now for BARE ESCENTUALS as a mineral color specialist. This also led me to be a Senior Glow Color Specialist at Faux GlowTM in Airbrush Tanning, where I have worked for over a year. Since make-up is synergistic with skin health, I became a licensed Aesthetician. Understanding how the skin functions has only enhanced my overall ability and professionalism in the industry. Having one-on-one consultations with clients and understanding their individual lifestyles gives me the liberty to help develop comprehensive programs to nurture their desire to take better care of their skin. This, in turn, will benefit their make up application. Enhancing ones beauty through healthy skin and make up is better than the old school mentality of covering up imperfections and flaws. |
René Cutler (Senior Glow Color Specialist/Xtreme Eyelash Specialist)
René Cutler, Faux Glow’s resident eyelash expert, is a certified specialist in eyelash extensions through Xtreme Lashes, the industry leader in the field. Her training allows her to offer clients a customized appearance for their lashes to achieve their desired look. Skilled in the intricacies of this new aesthetic process, René is an expert at the maintenance of eyelash extensions as well and offers her clients expertise throughout the entire extension application.
In addition to her eyelash expertise, she is also a certified and highly trained make-up artist. A graduate of the Margaret Kimura Academy’s Masters Program in Los Angeles, René’s work has been featured in print, film and television including commercials, feature films, music videos and print and online magazines. She has also appeared as an on-camera make-up artist for the series “Runway Moms” on the Discovery Health Channel.
René’s area of focus is “natural beauty” and she believes that the enhancement of her client’s assets is the best way to achieve a beautiful look. Because of her “eye for color” she is able to create custom color palettes that beautifully complement every skin tone.
René’s beauty philosophy is that “the best canvas for beautiful make-up starts with healthy, beautiful skin.” As such, she was immediately taken with Faux Glowtm’s UV free way of offering beautiful, sun kissed color while avoiding the signs of aging that come with the sun’s harmful rays.
